Changes in the Social Committee of EFEM

The EFEM Social Media Committee is excited to share some updates to its membership.

After many valued years with the group, Paula García will be stepping away from her role on the committee. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication, creativity, and commitment to promoting EFEM and its activities. We wish her every success as she continues her PhD and teaching in Anatomy.

We are delighted to welcome Marta Carretero Hernández and Hazel Allardyce as the newest members of the EFEM Social Media Committee.

Marta Carretero Hernández is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Saarland University, Germany. Her main research interest is the onset and progression of knee osteoarthritis, although she continues close collaboration with the laboratory of Neuroendocrinology and Obesity at the University of Salamanca, Spain, that focuses on hormonal expression dimorphism in the hippocampus. With a passion for morphology from the early stages of her academy life, she has followed the Spanish Anatomical Society activities closely and has recently joined the German Anatomische Gesellschaft.

Hazel Allardyce

Hazel Allardyce is a Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Her research focuses on vascular involvement in neurodegeneration, exploring how vascular dysfunction contributes to disease mechanisms. She is passionate about science communication and strengthening connections across the experimental morphology community.

With new energy and perspectives joining the committee, we are excited for the next chapter of EFEM’s social media activities and look forward to sharing even more with our community in the months ahead.
