Changes in the Board of EFEM

As 2026 begins, we are sharing an important update regarding the leadership of EFEM. After several years of dedicated service, Professor Fabio Quondamatteo's term as president of EFEM finished on December 31st. Doctor Elisabeth Eppler is taking on the role of the new president of our European Federation for Experimental Morphology.

A heartfelt thank-you to Fabio for all these years. We’re deeply grateful for the time, care, and leadership they’ve given to EFEM.

Although Professor Quondamatteo is stepping away from the position, they will remain involved as an active member, ensuring continuity and assistance in EFEM’s activities.

We’re also excited to announce that Dr. Elisabeth Eppler is acting as our new president. In recent years, she has served as Treasurer of EFEM, a position that she has held until a new member applies for the position in the following months. Dr. Eppler is an anatomy professor at the Institute of Anatomy in University of Bern (Switzerland). She has contributed in many ways, including her research in Molecular Biology, Endocrinology, and Comparative Anatomy, and her interest in teaching innovative tools focused on Anatomy.
